I am interested in communicating astronomy with both scientists of different disciplines and the general public of all ages. I have organized and participated in astronomy outreach events involving children and adults. Below you can find a summary of outreach activitiesI have been involved with and links to relevant material.

You have a question about astronomy?

  • I am currently a member of the Scientific Organizing Committee of the next "Communicating Astronomy with the Public" conference under the auspices of the International Astronomical Union (IAU).

  • I have given an astronomy outreach talk in the AHEPA center in Sydney, Australia, with the topic “From nothing, to something,...to us!”.

  • I have given two radio interviews on the Australian radio about my work as a Greek astronomer working abroad and the topics of my research.

  • I have published a general public article about black holes and the SKA in a newspaper of the Greek diaspora of Australia (Article in Greek).

  • I have co-organized an “Astronomy at School” event for children in the SAMHYOOK elementary school, in Seoul, South Korea. Around 60 children were taught about our planetary system and how a solar eclipse works through interactive games and presentations ("Make your own solar system” kit, “Our solar system”).

  • I have participated in the “Open Doors” event of the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy in 2009, presenting a poster on binary supermassive black holes (Poster in German).

  • I co-organized the 4th and 5th inter-disciplinary meetings of the PhDnet of the Max Planck Society. In total, around 80 PhD students of the Max Planck Society took part in these two events. They had the chance to present their scientific research in layman terms to PhD students of disciplines different from their own.
